10 New Bands You Need to Know

The past year has supplied us with a number of great bands and artists, I've whittled it down to 10 bands I think you'll be hearing more about in the future. So here's a quick heads up of the tracks playing at the parties of 2013:

10. Now, Now - an explosion of indie rock with soft, sad vocals woven through. After a while you feel like you've crawled into the mind of singer Cacie Dalager and it's quite cosy.

9. The Men - during their 3rd album Open Your Heart, The Men continue to journey through all kinds of genres, from punk rock to post-hardcore; their experimentation will never leave you bored.
8. METZ - a band that have the skill of putting loud noises together which at first gives the impression that you're being fucked in the ear but you soon realize you like it so it's ok.
7. Holograms - Q: what do you get if you mix 4 Swedes, some synthesizers and some angry punk attitude? A: Holograms' self titled debut album. Carelessly crafted, Holograms are reviving punk.

6. Miaoux Miaoux - if you like indie pop you're bound to be caught out dancing around your bedroom in your pants to Miaoux Miaoux, no one would blame you though.
 5. Kindness - approved by Vogue, Kindness bring funk and a strange kind of sadness together; perhaps the sort that comes from a cocktail induced hangover.
4. Grizzly Bear - aren't technically a new band but thier lastest album Shields has captured with British indie scene's attention by mastering relaxed synth beats and melancholic vocals.

3. Tame Impala - may cause you to feel like you've taken a psychedelic drug and you're in a state of pure bliss. Tame Impala are for days when you can't get your hands on narcotics. And days you can.

2. Purity Ring - according to Wikipedia this duo fall into the genre of indietronica which sounds suspiciously lame but have a listen and you'll see that Purity Ring are anything but.

1. Poliça - the perfect mix indie rock and electronica; Channy Leaneagh's soft voice makes you feel like you're floating around space rather than standing at a freezing bus stop on a Tuesday morning.
